What do you believe the author’s intent was, and what patterns of organization did you observe?

I think the author's intent was for us to feel sorry for them and wonder what will happen in the future for them. In this chapter, they used chronological organiztion, cause/effect organiztion, and spatial organiztion.

I Think...

Katniss and Peeta are very brave and collected that they aren't freaking out about how they'll be risking their lives. That they will be leaving all their friends and family to fight and survive. Instead they're laughing about their drunk advisor.

Chapter 3 Summary

After stepping up to the stage, she is sent to the Justice Building to say goodbye to her friends and family. She tellls her mother to promise she won't fall apart again. Then, Peeta Mallark's father, the baker, walked in and he promised her to make sure Prim is being fed. Next, Madge comes in and gives Katniss a gold pin of a mockingjay that represents rebellion of the Capitol. Lastly, Gale eneters the room. He tells Katniss to find a bow if she can, and he says he won’t let Katniss’s family starve. When she was driven to the train station, that's where she saw Peeta. When they were having dinner on the train, they would make joke about Haymitch's drunkenness. But what Effie mentioned was that Haymitch is their advisor.
