At the age of 72, I wrote a book called the Recollections of A Geogia Loyalist detailing the way the Revolutionary War impacted women in colonial Georgia. I was outraged at the treatment of women and children in Georgia. Though I lived during a very interesting time period, my book revolved mostly around my family during the Revolutionary War.

About Me

  • I was born on May 28, 1764 near the Little Ogeechee River.
  • I died in Halifax, Nova Scotia in 1848.
  • I am most prominately known for my views on the unfair treatment of Loyalist women and children during the American Revolution.
  • My family was a wealthy and important family in the Royal Colony of Georgia.

The Siege of Savannah

Education

I was homeschooled by my aunt who inspired my love for reading and writing.

During the Siege of Savannah, I was only 15. I was terrified as terrible rebel general Lachlan McIntosh shelled Savannah. Fortunately, at the end of the battle, the British won. From then on, I despised the rebels even more than I already did.
