• Sirach 37:30-31: "for overeating brings sickness, and gluttony leads to nausea. Many have died of gluttony, but he who is careful to avoid it prolongs his life."

What is it?

• Derived from the Latin gluttire meaning to gulp down or swallow,

• Means over-indulgence and over-consumption of food, drink, or wealth items.

• It is the consumption in excess to the point of being wasteful.
