1792-1815

1803

1799

The Eliza became the first ship to sail into San Francisco Bay.

During 1803, Thomas Jefferson negotiated the Louisiana purchase from France. U.S. added all of France's Territory from Miss. River to Rocky Mountains.

1806

Lewis and Clark went on their Exhibition.

1812

March 1812- three parties went out-Russel, Farham, Gillies

1800

People visited companies to make sure that things were in order and that conduct would be good for the traders.

1794

Finlay could become a trailblazer and would become well known to the fur trade. In '96 he took over the Fort of de Prairies.

1815

1815-Mcmillian, Montour, and cox hunted in the Spokane plains.

1793

Alexander Mackenzie completed an expedition in 1793 that was the first to come overland to the pacific through the Rocky Mountains.

1797

Many ships pursued the fur trade along the coast from California to Alaska, some of which may have sailed the Columbia River or anchored off the Oregon Coast without leaving records.

The Colombian river was discovered by Vancouver and Gray.
