Opening Of Japan-1853

A minor engagement between Chinese and Japanese troops at the Marco-Polo Bridge, near Peking, led to undeclared war between the two nations.

The United States forced Japan to open its markets to foreigners when Matthew Perry sailed into Tokyo Bay in 1853. This forced Japan to strengthen its military and modernize its economy in order to defend itself.

Russian forces followed up after the First Sino-Japanese War and tried to take control over of Korea but was not able to and war for Manchuria and other ports for shipping.

By 1930 Japans population was growing vastly and was still growing at a pace of 1 million people per year. They did not have enough land to hold all of these people so they decided to go acquire Manchuria.

The Tripartite Pact, also known as the Berlin Pact, was an agreement between Germany, Italy and Japan signed in Berlin on 27 September 1940.

The Kellogg-Braind Pact - 1928

First Sino-Japanese War 1894-1895

The First Sino-Japanese War involved Japan and China and Japan was able to take over control of Korea and knock down China.

The Kellogg–Briand Pact is a 1928 international agreement in which signatory states promised not to use war to resolve "disputes or conflicts of whatever nature or of whatever origin they may be, which may arise among them".

"Greater East Asia Co-Prosperity Sphere" is remembered largely as a front for the Japanese control of occupied countries during World War II, in which puppet governments manipulated local populations and economies for the benefit of Imperial Japan.
