BRIEF HISTORY
Brgy. Sampaloc I is one of the 75 barangays in the City of Dasmariñas, Cavite. It started off as sitio Pala-pala in 1925, where 16 families reside. The said area was called “Pala-pala” due to its residents who made a palapala or pondahan – that is, a place to hang out or eat out – which eventually became a marketplace in front of Pala-pala Elementary School.

NATURE OF
THE STUDY
The nature of the study revolves mainly around the generation of two main reports used by the barangay in terms of incoming collections – that is, the SCD or Summary of Collections and Deposits, and the CRD Register or Cash Receipts and Deposits Register.
The researchers, however, decided to limit the scope of the program to the forms which the chosen barangay frequently uses, as some of the forms and reports are rarely or never used by the said client.
MOTIVATION OF PROPOSED SYSTEM
The researchers chose this particular study due to various reasons such as, but not limited to:
• The nearness of the vicinity;
• The availability of known contacts within the chosen company;
• The observed fact that the client’s current system still have lots of rooms for improvement and enhancement; and
• The ease of access in terms of the acquisition of resources such as form samples and report manuals.
STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM
1. How can the researchers reduce the excessive use of time, energy, and resources of the chosen barangay when it comes to the manual registration of logs and reports?
2. What kind of solution can the researchers provide regarding the duplication and inconsistency in the barangay records?
OBJECTIVE OF THE STUDY
1. To provide a system that automatically produces reports based from the registered logs and transactions; and
2. To present a system that features a form generator that is connected to specific normalized databases, thus exterminating the possibility of excessive and unnecessary duplication and inconsistencies in the barangay records.
