Ah Niew's money was stolen
Ah Niew lost his parents as a baby and was brought up by his grandmother. he sold cakes baked in oil that his grandmother cooked.
Ah Niew got lucky once and sold all his cakes very fast. On his way home he helped an old woman and left his earnings which he placed under the paper linings of his basket on the street behind him
Trying to find his basket, he noticed it was placed near a stone, Ah Niew then realized that all his earnings were stolen.
Pow Kong a kindhearted judge happened to pass by and asked the onlookers if they took the money; everyone denied taking it so Pow Kong held a trial against a stone.
Everyone was curoius and decided to attend the trial; a pot full of water was set outside for all to place 20 cents before entering. One man with a big nose place his money and Pow Kong proclaimed him guilty.
It turned out that Pow Kong was checking for money full of Ah Niew's cake oil.
Pow Kong gave Ah Niew his earnings along with the money from the pot.
Ah Niew went home to his grandma happily.
