One person out so many people had a vision on invent a tool that would be useful for many people around the world. Marcian Hoff or as he call himself “Ted” was the co-founder of the first commercial processor, and it was manufacture by Intel where he was employed in the company.

History

Major contributions

Marcian Hoff was born Rochester, New York in 1937. He spend his time until he went to Albany in New York to study Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute on (1958), after that he went study his Master Degree (1959) and Ph.D. (1962) in Stanford in California from Stanford University. After that he joined Intel 1968. Computer History Museum clam that Marcian Hoff had an “idea of using a universal processor to replace custom-designed circuits.” There were not any information about his parents, wife, or a close friend.

The major work that Marcian Hoff have done to the world was create a processor that is consider small than the other computers that that time which consider extremely big, and it would take the size of a room. The first processor he have done was Intel 4004. That was the first commercial processor available, and it has a significant capability. After that Intel have been working on designing a faster and bigger sizes of memory. Today processor have become extremely fast to transfer information between computers, have a strong capably to store and recall information in a matter of a seconds, and create a very small processors which is cellphone and music player and other devices. Technology never stopped here, companies have created devices to scan human body and know exactly what diseases he or she has. This device is computed tomography (CT), having computer to view the medical history become easy and fast which can save a lot of time. Communicate with people from a long distance become easy and accessible to everyone in the world because it is either cheaper than using a wire telephone or free.
