* Died In 1904 at the age of 44 of tuberculosis

* Recognized as the master of modern short story

* Chekhov was scientifically trained as a physician, considered a poet

* Chekhov adapted Commedia Dell’atre to his own purposes

* Chekhov silently questions our purposes without expecting any answers when he portrayed reality

* Chekhov gave more exciting structure for theatrical purposes by trying not to create dramatic rhythms in everyday events.

* Chekhov's main focus was on human beings, and how they interacted with one another.

His analyzes life, love, and death and incorporates those emotions as he in visions them in his plays.
