Main body- in 3 parts
1. Introduce the child and the context: a. Introducing the child – who is the child? How old is he/she?
b. Introducing the family – what makes up the child’s family?
c. Introduce the context – where do they live? What is their cultural background? What else?
2. Identify and Discuss two/three observed aspects of the development of the child a. Introduce the observed aspect(s) providing summary of observation – what was observed in relation to the child’s development (physical, cognitive, language, social and emotional)
b. Connect the observed aspect(s) with the support of relevant theories – what theories are evident in what you have observed?
3. Apply and Explain how contextual factors impact on observed aspects of child development: a. How does the personal, social and cultural circumstances of the child affect their holistic development?
Conclusion
What does your narrative conclude about the experiences and construction of childhood development in varying contexts?

The 500 word reflection on group discussion is composed of three steps:
1. Introduce (100 words) a. What did you discuss in your group
2. Discuss (200 words) a. What similarities / differences have you identified from colleagues’ observations?
b. What do you think has influenced these differences in observations?
3. Apply (200 words) a. How has the discussion helped you develop your biographical narrative?

1: Use citation at the beginning and end of the paraphrase
What is it?
2: Use alternative words and phrases, but:

1. Read/re-read the original passage until you understand and can summarize its full meaning.
2. Highlight key words and phrases- the important ideas that must be included in the paraphrase.
3. Write your paraphrase. Pay attention to any nouns, adjectives, adverbs etc. that could be changed in your paraphrase. Top Tips!
4. Check: does the overall idea of the paraphrase express the same ideas as the original? Are all the important ideas expressed in the paraphrase?
