Still Step 3

2. Then we checked the recommended minutes of the popcorn. We decided on the average which was two minutes.

3. We popped one popcorn bag of each brand for each trial.

4. Then we counted the unpopped popcorn kernels.

5. We recorded our information in a Google spreadsheet and made a bar graph of our results.

Step 3: Conduct the Experiment

  • Stop & Shop
  • Orville Redenbacher's
  • Pop Secret

Microwave Popcorn Brands

Step 2: Hypothesis

We predict that Orville Redenbacher's popcorn will leave the least amount of unpopped popcorn kernels.

Step 1: Question

Which popcorn brand leaves the least amount of unpopped kernels?

We performed our experiment on January 19, National Popcorn Day!

Step 5: Conclusion

Orville Redenbacher's had the least amount (average= 127 unpopped kernels).
