My

Reflection

I think The Red Pyramid is a great book that I would reccomend to anyone. I think the characters have different personalities, and the dialogue for each character is very similar to their lifestyle. For example, sadie Kane, who lived in london for about 6 years, used english words and phrases while her brother carter's dress style was the way his father told him to dress in public. There is a lot of humor in the book, and the story it self makes sense. It also refers to a lot of the history of egypt. I think the book is fantastic, and the plot flows together. There is a lot of suspense in the book as well, so you should read "The Red Pyramid" from the book series "The Kane Chronicles" by Rick RIordan.

THEME/conflict:

PERSON VS PERSON

Setting

The conflict of the story is person vs. person. The Kane siblings (Carter and Sadie), with the help of the gods Isis and Horus, are trying to save the world from destruction by stopping Set, the god of chaos. The theme of the story is that family is the most magical thing in life.

The first important place Sadie and Carter stayed in and called their home was Brooklyn, or the 21st nome of Egypt. The second place they went to was Paris, France, where they gained essential information. The last important place they went to was the Red Pyramid.

Set

Horus is the god of revenge, falcons, and the sky. He is also the protector of the pharoah of Egypt. His evil uncle, set, damages one of horus's eyes in battle, which is replaced with an "eye made of moonlight,"or the Eye of horus.

The knot of Isis, also called a Tyet, is related to a anhk, which is a symbol for life.

Isis is an Egyptian Goddess which represents

motherhood and love.

Bast is a very important character in the story. She was given to Sadie as a going away present by her father, posing as the cat "Muffin". Bast protects both Carter and Sadie Kane on their quest, and later becomes their guardian.

Carter's AMulet is the eye of horus. This amulet helps him in battle on his quest

Sadie's father, Julius Kane, gave her this amulet before she had moved to London to live with her grandparents, which helped to protect her on her quest with Carter.

Set is a dangeroud god who is trying to destroy the world in simple terms. He killed his father and attempted to kill Horus, his nephew.
