There are 8 parts that make a story. In this order...
- Stasis (The Intro)
- Trigger (Something out of the ordinary happens)
- The Quest (The Protagonist seeks something.)
- Surprise(Things don't go as planned.)
- Critical Choice (the difficult decision. Causing the Climax.)
- Climax (Consequences of the critical choice.)
- Reversal (Change in circumstances.)
- Resolution (If they lived happily ever after... or not.)

The Story arc is the principle of the storyline. The most commonly used story arcs are the 8-point story arc and the 3-point story arc.
