Taylorism
Henry Ford
- Born in 1863
- Died in 1947
- In 1891, He works in the mechanics for Thomas Edison in his company:Edison Illuminating Company. He begins to be interested by the gasoline engines and he creates his own car.
- He acquires some companies before making some mass production in 1906 with his method inspire of the Taylorism: the fordism.
The principle of taylor's method is to divide the work into several tasks:
We observe the actions achieved by the workers.
We divide them into several gestures short and easy to learn in the purpose that this gesture is repetitive, the worker does not have to think any more. However he becomes little qualified and salaries are very low.
The cadence is fast, the purpose is to eliminate timeouts. Only persons who have to think are the engineers to find always more solutions for a faster production.
Frederick Winslow Taylor
- Born in 1856
- Died in 1915
- Hired in 1878, in a factory where we make some steel, he begins worker, and becomes foreman then chief engineer
- His experience in worker's job allows him to understand why, sometimes the production is so slow. It is what allowed him to invent his method: the Taylorism

Fordism
Henry ford is one of the first ones to set up the assembly-line work. The principle of the assembly-line work is that the worker moves no more but that the object which he has to work comes to him with a conveyor. With this system Ford produced many Ford T, which is often considered as being the first accessible car to all.
