The Heart

the heart beats roughly 72 times a minute. the heart has a total of four chambers, two atria and two ventricles. the atrium is the lower chamber. it pumps blood from the heart to the lungs. the ventricles pumps blood out of the heart.

Background

*An oxygen molecule is a molecule combined with two atoms. Its in the atmosphere and in the oceans.

*Its important because you need oxygen to survive,it makes up 20% of earths atmosphere.

Gas Exchange

The process of gas exchange dissolves oxygen in a moisture in the inner surface of the alveoli and diffuses in the capillaries into t he blood . Oxygen dissolves easily, carries protein in the blood. hemoglobin combines with so much oxygen into the blood.

Path through the respiratory system

circulatory system

the human circulatory system consists of the heart, blood vessels, and blood that flows through them. carbon dioxide leaves blood while the oxygen is absorbed. oxygen flows into the other side and then is pumped to the rest of the body.

  • Oxygen molecules and carbon dioxide in the air enters the human body trough the nose or mouth. Then travels through a tobe called the pharynx which is a passageway for food and air. After it goes through the pharynx it enters the trachea into two large passageways called the bronchi. The bronchi separates into a whole bunch of little bronchioles getting smaller and smaller until they reach the end and bunch up into tiny air sacs called the alveoli.
