How Hitler breaks the Treaty of Versailles and Locarno Pact: Hitler comes into power during a time when the people are desperate and hungry and will listen to anything, as long as they are taken care of. As Hitler becomes popular, his militia grows. Since this is a militia the number on that can be unlimited. Eventually, the militia outnumbers the national army. This a loophole Hitler finds in the treaty. The militia was at a staggering 4.5 million. Once Hitler controls Germany he starts to build up his army there.

The Munich Pact prolongs appeasement in 1938. French Prime minster and British Prime minister Neville Chamberlain and Edouard Daladier sign a pact with Hitler that ends up giving him Czechoslovakia . This pact was signed in order to not engage in any forms of warfare. Hitler ends up getting what he wants with out consequences again. This shows that Hitler is starting to conquer more land for his "greater" Germany in order to attempt to create his perfect society

Video on the appeasement of Germany:

These events caused appeasement for Germany and they occurred on March of 1936 for the reoccupation of the Rhineland. The Anschluss (union) with Austria occurs in March of 1938. The Munich agreement is signed in September of 1938.

The Anschluss with Austria marks Germany's power rising. Hitler basically forces Austria to be on board with the union between the two when he sends troops into Austria. Austrian Chancellor Kurt von Schuschnigg is bullied by Hitler in there meetings and Kurt agreed to all of Hitler's demands to prevent an invasion. German foreign minister Hermann Goering fakes a situation of great magnitude by saying Austria is in need of German assistance. The significance of this event occurring is that Hitler starts expansion of the Nazi "empire", however like before not one country steps in to punish Germany. The policy was to worry about their own issues and this allows Hitler to spread his influence on to more people.

Hitler wrote in Mein Kampf that he would honor no treaties and wanted his land back. No one stopped him however because each country had there own issues (Great Depression) to deal with and didn't want to risk involvement. He had the population craving land lost in WW 1 creating a rapid flow of Nationalism. The significance of this event is that Hitler breaks the Treaty of Versailles and not one Nation steps in and acts upon Hitler's actions. This allows Hitler to do as he pleases.

The reoccupation of the Rhineland that occurred in 1936, when Adolf Hitler broke the Treaty of Versailles and Locarno Pact. The Treaty of Versailles reduced the national army to a number of 100,000 troops and were not permitted any tanks what so ever. The German air force was taken away and the Rhineland becomes an demilitarized zone. To make matters worse, Germany was not allowed any submarines what so ever and were also watched by the allied powers having an army occupying the Rhineland for 15 years. The land taken was ; Alsace-Lorraine (given to France), Eupen and Malmedy (given to Belgium), Northern Schleswig (given to Denmark), Hultschin (given to Czechoslovakia), and West Prussia, Posen and Upper Silesia (given to Poland). The Locarno Pact establishes boundaries and gets Germany approved into the league of nations.

This photo represents how if the nation's don't act they could be next on Hitler's invasion list.

This photo shows the Nazi militia marching to reoccupy the Rhineland.

This photo shows Hitler agreeing upon terms with the British and French prime minster in the Munich agreement.

Before WW 2 Hitler takes Austria, Poland, and Czechoslovakia.
