While recognizing the cultural differences, our dress is to be simple, modest, and neat, befitting those whose true beauty does not consist of outward adornment but in the imperishable ornament of a gentle and quiet spirit.
2 Corinthians 6:14 says, Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness?
As we receive the light of Jesus, our entertainments also have to show the light. Because the light cannot have the fellowship with darkness.
1Peter 3:3-4 says, Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold jewelry or fine clothes. Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God's sight.
It says, because our bodies are the temples of the Holy Spirit, we are to care for them intelligently. Along with adequate exercise and rest, we are to adopt the most healthful diet possible and abstain from the unclean foods identified in the Scriptures. Since alcoholic beverages, tobacco, and the irresponsible use of drugs and narcotics are harmful to our bodies, we are to abstain from them as well. Instead, we are to engage in whatever beings our thoughts and bodies into the discipline of Christ, who desires our wholesomeness, joy, and goodness.
In Leviticus 11: 1-47, God gave us the unclean foods. And in order to keep our body healthy, we have to avoid these foods.
1Corinthians 6:19-20 says, Do you not know that your bodies are the temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.
It says that we are called to be a godly people who think, feel, and act in harmony with the principles of heaven. We have to be the ones who have to reflect the characters of Jesus.
We are called the temples of Holy Spirit. And God also told us to keep it clean and honor God with our bodies.
As Christians, in our lives, we have to reflect Christ in our Characters, Outfit, and Foods we eat. Basically, in everything we do, we have to do in Christ. So that people can see Christ through us.
All of our amusements and entertainments should meet the highest standards of Christian taste and beauty.
When we truly have God in us, as God calls us His temples, our entertainments should meet what God wants for us.
1John 2:6 says, Whoever claims to live in him must live as Jesus did. As we call ourselves Christian, we have to live like Jesus.
By this, we can lead people by showing the true character of Jesus, closer to Jesus Christ.
We are called to be a godly people who think, feel, and act in harmony with the principles of heaven. For the Spirit to recreate in us the character of our Lord we involve ourselves only in those things which will produce Christ like purity, health, and joy in our lives. This means that our amusement and entertainment should meet the highest standards of Christian taste and beauty. While recognizing cultural differences, our dress is to be simple, modest, and neat, befitting those whose true beauty does not consist of outward adornment but in the imperishable ornament of a gentle and quiet spirit. It also means that because our bodies are the temples of the Holy Spirit, we are to care for them intelligently. Along with adequate exercise and rest, we are to adopt the most healthful diet possible and abstain from the unclean foods identified in the Scriptures. Since alcoholic beverages, tobacco and the irresponsible use of drugs and narcotics are harmful to our bodies, we are to abstain from them as well. Instead, we are to engage in whatever beings our thoughts and bodies into the discipline of Christ, who desires our wholesomeness, joy, and goodness.
Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God-this is your true and proper worship.
Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is-his good, pleasing and perfect will.
-Romans 12:1-2
