How and where did they do this?

They did boycotts, marches, and other forms of non-violent protests. They held their meetings in black churches which were seen as important symbols in the battle for Civil Rights.

They also focused their attentions on economic inequality. They saw poverty as the main problem. In 1962, the SCLC began Operation Breadbasket, which created many new jobs in Atlanta for the black community. In 1966, it spread towards Chicago and created even more jobs for black people, this was know as the Chicago campaign.

The SCLC brought all other Civil Rights organizations together, helped black Americans in registering to vote, and opened citizenship schools, while preaching the use of non-violence in all of their campaigns.

In conclusion, the SCLC was a great thing for the fight of Civil Rights. From the way it helped desegregate schools in big cities, helped black Americans have the right to vote, and how they provided many jobs for black people. The SCLC was a very helpful and amazing thing that happened during the Civil Rights movement.

The SCLC is a Civil Rights organization that was founded in 1957 right after the Montgomery Bus Boycott had ended.

Where were their efforts focused?

The SCLC focused its main efforts in Albany, Birmingham, and St. Augustine to become desegregated and for fair treatment of black people.

Why was it made?

It was created to advance the cause of civil rights in a non-violent way. Which they indeed succeeded in doing.

Martin Luther King Jr. was the SCLC's first president, he served from its founding until his assassination. He was succeeded by Ralph Abernathy who served until 1997.
