Stomach

This is where the main digestion happens.

There are acids in the stomach that breaks down the food, and the stomach muscle contracts further breaking down the nutrients.

Small intestine

The small intestines job is to absorb the nutrients from the broken down food.

It also has to carry the food into the Large Intestine.

Large Intestine

The large intestines job is to absorb all of the water still left, and transport the waste to the rectum

The rectum is the final part of the digestive system. Its job is to hold waste inside of it until it is time to expel the waste from the anus.
