Myrtle was murdered by Daisy, she got ran over however Tom believed it was Gatsby so, Tom told George Gatsby murdered Myrtle. In conclusion, George murdered Gatsby at an unsuspected moment.

Gatsby started of living in a farm with both his mom and dad. He had a number of jobs including salmon fishing, clam-digging, a janitor, and being a secretary. After these jobs he contributed to the society, by joining the army and fighting in World War I.

Daisy married Tom because of his wealth. Although she truly fell in love with Gatsby at a young age she left him due to him being poor. "Rich girls don't marry poor boys." Marrying Tom was the "right" thing to do because of his wealth. Staying with Gatsby while he was poor would have ruined her reputation.

Gatsby's background included being a drug dealer, working in the oil industry, anything to get quick money. People never really knew any true facts about him, there was always just a bunch of rumors. Although he reached his goals, he never had real friends.

Gatsby's Love Affair

Being unhappily married to Tom, she soon finds out about his affair with a woman in New York. (Myrtle.)

A woman who is also unhappily married, to George. Their affair went on, and Daisy accepted it. She hears the name "Gatsby" and gets a sudden remembrance of him, although it doesn't click to her all at once, she does remember.

Daisy and Gatsby had fallen in love at a young age. Although they loved each other Daisy left him for Tom because Gatsby was poor and couldn't satisfy her needs. Later on, Gatsby tries to get Daisy back by impressing her with all his "new money."

After . . .

Gatsby and Daisy find each other after so long. Gatsby has gained so much wealth he now suits her financial needs.

Fatal Car Accident

Murder/ Suicide

Who: The people involved in this scene is Daisy, Wilson, George, Gatsby, Tom, Nick, and Myrtle. Gatsby and Daisy is driving in Tom's car while Nick, Jordan, and Tom is driving Gatsby car. George is somewhere in his workplace while the whole situation happens.

Gatsby's Parties

Gatsby invites everybody to his huge parties. He creates more jobs for everybody while having these parties, for example he has orchestras, entertainment, food catering, etc.

Nick, Gatsby, Daisy, Jordan, and Tom were coming back from meeting at a hotel while Myrtle jumps out of no where and gets hit. Gatsby dies in his swimming, and Wilson commits suicide in Gatsby's yard. For example, in this quote "It was after we started with Gatsby toward the house that the gardener saw wilson's body a little way off in the grass..."(Fitzgerald 162)

Daisy was feeling moody, so when myrtle came out of no where, she accidentally ran over her. Also, this shows how careless Daisy is when it comes to situations like these.

The Great Gatsby Newspaper Project

Why & When:

Gatsby was shot, and Wilson shot himself because Myrtle died.

This accident occurred during the night when Gatsby, Nick, Jordan, daisy, and Tom were going back to Tom's mansion. Myrtle was killed because she ran in front of Tom's car and of Daisy's careless driving. Because of this, Wilson kills Gatsby and then commits suicide.
