Study
To find an alternative way of killing mosquitoes so that it can help lessen dengue cases and is eco-friendly, affordable, accessible to everyone especially in rural areas.
SCHEMATIC DESIGN
INPUT
Gathering materials of the following:
Plastic bottles, dog food, black spray paint, galvanized steel wire, black socks, and filter paper for the ovitrap.
Pandan Gubat fruit and leaves, and ethanol for the extraction.
PROCESS
Extraction of crude extract of
Pandan Gubat using ethanol.
Using distilled water to determine
the presence of saponin by shaking
the crude extract with distilled water.
Separating second and
third instar larvae that is
to be used in the experiment.
OUTPUT
After finishing the procedures this
should be the possible and expected
results:
- It is determinable which part of Pandan Gubat (leaves or fruits) is effective on killing mosquito larvae.
- Pandan Gubat fruit is able to kill mosquito larvae.
- Pandan Gubat leaves are able to kill mosquito larvae.
