American art is derived from many countries. Abstsract paintings, lanscape sketches, and painting. Sculptures and many other art forms reflect many cultures from around the world including Japan
Japan's country is beautiful! It is similar to our state, Califiornia. 50% of Japan is mountains and covered by forests. It also consists of thousands of small islands. It is divided into 8 regions, and 47 Prefectures. Prefectures are like states like states in the U.S.
America also has states. We have 50 and all landforms, deserts, plains, mountains, and valleys. We have very fertile land. We have many lakes and rivers as well. America is Beautiful!
Japanese Government is made up of a parliament with members called a Diet. It has a House of Representatives and a House of Councilors. The Supreme Court is the highest court of law. Their Prime Minister is elected.
America's government is similar. We also are a democratic government with an elected President. We have a House of Rep. and Senate that make up our Congress. We also have the Supreme Court as our highest court of
Japan's society s very modern and high tech. They are very educated and put a lot of effort into their careers. They are also very respectable people, and are very aware of manners and appearance.
America's society is similar as being modern and high tech. We read that the Japanese popultion is getting smaller because there are more careers drigen and many don't not have children becsause of that reason. Americans have time for both. Unfortunately, Americans are not as aware of politeness and respect for others as the Japanese.
The Japanese language is spoken in Japan. Most of their culture comes frlm China. The food dishes such as, boiled veggie and fish are served primarilywith rice. Japanese eat very heathy foods. The young people have many modern interests. They listen to popular music, and Karaoke was actually statred in Japan. They are very interested in Anime and Manga and watch tv as well.
Most people in America speak English however, many different languages are spoken through the states. ere are many places our cultures came from becuse the US was formed by many different countries.
Korea
Language and Art
English is a very popular language in Korea but their main is Korean.
Yen is the currency in Japan. The High manufacturing industry produces automobiles, and high tech electronic to be exported to other countries. Their economy is thriving. Natural resources are very limited, so mining is very small.
The dollar is America's currency. Manufacturing, farming and mining are the primary source our economy. Amercian relies on importing and exporting to keep its economy moving.
Religion- Korea has many types of religions, but the most famous are Buddhism, Protestantism, and Catholic. The types of people include small clusters of Chinese, Japanese, Vietmamese, and Europeans.
Koreans art includes music, painting, pottery, calligraphy, handwriting, and penmanship. The art often has surface decorations, bold colors, natural forms, and bold sounds.

Geography- The Tuman gang river serves as a natural border with Russia. South Korea is warmer than North Korea. Has many mountains.

Politics- their democratic government is still "new." Their president/ prime minister is Park Gean-hye which is the first girl to be their president/ prime minister.

One of the main differencesin customs we found is that the Japanese take care of their elders. They tke care of their parents by letting them live with them and providing for them.
Very few Americans do this.
Wearing Kimonos on special occasions are a tradition in Japan. A Kimono is a traditional brightly colored silk robe or dress worn by everyone on important celebrated days and/or festivals.
Amricans also celebrate holidays with fancy clothes and festivals. Sometimes religious holidays are celebrated in traditional customs as well
Buddhism and Shinto are the two major religions in Japan, but various religions are practiced throughout the country.
People migrated to america so that they could practice their religion. American is free to choose and the religion of their choice.
