Defining the human needs
I: Intellectual need
- Describe the intellectual needs of the user
- Things that affect the mental well-being of the user
- Examples of a teenager's intellectual needs: Homework, internet, library
- Examples of an adult worker's intellectual needs: Courses, television, newspapers
P: Physical need
- Describe the physical needs of the user
- A child's physical need is different from an adult's physical needs
- Examples of a child's physical needs: health care, food, shelter, type of clothing
- Examples of an adult's physical needs: House, car, clothes for work, kitchenware, money
E: Emotional Need
- Describe the emotional needs of the user
- Emotions relate to being happy, stressed, angry, sad, frustrated, lazy, worried etc.
- Examples of a child's emotional needs include: feeling safe at home, getting hugs and kisses from parents, getting complements from teachers
- Examples of an adult's emotional needs include: feeling loved and loving a partner, getting recognition at work, making their child happy, money
S: Social Need
- Describe the social needs of the user
- Involves interaction and communication with a certain group of people
- Examples of a child's social needs include interaction with others of the same age, communication with parents and siblings
- Examples of an adult's social needs include interaction with colleagues at work, interaction with friends and family members
- Examples of a teenager's social needs include having friends, twitter, facebook, instagram, online chatting, online gaming
