Festival time
Before dawn in Bungawitta tables were up, by 7:00 all of the tables were stacked with all the things ready to be sold. AS time ticked by, 8 o'clock, 9 o'clock, no-one came,"I told you," said Socko Riley. But just the first car came over the hill, then another and another. Then everyone lost count. "When are the ABC people coming?" asked Glory-Alice. No-one knew. People had started building, wombats. pineapples and the Sydney Opera house were coming out of the ground. Many people asked when are the ABC coming but no-one knew. Glory-alice was nagging Jay to come and see some-thing, as they came into a room in Maisie-Madcuff's house, she had captured the weather reporter and tried to make him promise to make it rain. Then it poured so much that all the sculptures were ruined. It rained all night, all the cars were bogged in. The prize was given to a girl who made a wombat with leaves in his mouth because everyone liked it and no-one asked for their money back.

Complications

They could also pay for some bread and sausages, and could get some white T-shirts to print, but is this enough to put on a proper show...
Preparations
To get this festival ready many things had to be done. Annie printed T-shirts all day, Aunty Flo made chutneys and jams till she was dizzy with fumes, Cookie made fruit cakes till he was sick of the sight of them, Ben Wise made signs, Jay made pennants till his fingers were blistered and Maisie-Madcuff knitted tea cosies in between her dreams.
The story
Bungawitta- where the sun always shines
Bungawitta has a problem; it hasn’t rained for 10 years. There used to be many more inhabitants. Now there are only 12 people, two dogs and a Shetland pony. But not only do they need rain they also need money. Their solution, a festival, but will it work???
This is what happens when 12 people try to put on a festival to raise money when they are isolated, dry and in the doldrums.
Only time and the ABC can tell if it will work. “It’s how one little town is tackling the drought. There will be food, fun, easy parking and top music. According to the locals it will be satisfaction guaranteed or your money back,” the ABC told Australia. They're bringing their buckets and spades but who else is? But is what they said true? IS Bungawitta really the only place where the sun ALWAYS shines...
