The theme for the third and last section of the novel would be determination. All through this section Montag is determined in everything he does, from crossing the boulevard to framing Black for having books. An example of this in the book would be as he ran across the street, "He dropped a book, broke pace, almost turned, changed his mind, plunged on, yelling in concrete emptiness..." It shows how determined and dedicated he was to live on with these books and not give up even if it meant losing a book.
Knowledge could be thought of as a theme for the second section of the book. Through this section Montag is so desperate to receive more and more knowledge from books and the world around him. ""Theory, hell," said Montag. "It's poetry."" He also tries to give and share this gained knowledge and literacy with the people around him such as Millie and her friends.
The theme within the first section of Fahrenheit 451 is discovery. Throughout the section all Montag does is discover new things about the world around him and even some self discoveries. ""I didn't know that!" Montag laughed abruptly. "Bet I know something else you don't. There's dew on the grass in the morning."" This quote from the book completely represents how discovery is a theme through the first section.
"Yes, he thought, where am I running?"
"You're the only one I knew might help me. To see. To see . . ."
"I want to look at them, at least look at them once. Then if what Captain says is true, we'll burn them together..."
