To form the denials - phrases or questions - would not be added to form behind you would not normally get to would not, for example:

For example:

Yo iría = I would go

Yo no iría = I would not go = I wouldn’t go

Yo no compraría I wouldn’t buy

Tú no dirías You wouldn’t say

Él no comería He wouldn’t eat

Ella no leería She wouldn’t read

No sería It wouldn’t be

Nosotros no iríamos We wouldn’t go

Vosotros no dormiríais You wouldn’t sleep

Ustedes no dormirían

Ellos/Ellas no enviarían They wouldn’t send

To the questions would be, the person or subject and would be reversed and we have the structure:

(question word) + would + verb + subject or person

¿Dirías? Would you say?

¿Vendríais vosotros? Would you come?

¿Vendrían ustedes?

¿Les gustaría (a ellos/ellas)? Would they like?

However, it would be applied to almost any verb in Spanish when the verb ends with one of the Ria endings -rías, -ríamos, -ríais or -rían. (There is only one or two exceptions - could and should be - I will try in another post.) And the same form would be used for everyone.

  • For example:

Yo compraría I would buy

Tú dirías You would say

Él comería He would eat

Ella leería She would read

Nosotros iríamos We would go

Is an auxiliary verb endings representing Spanish verbs Ria, -rías, -ríamos, -ríais and –rían. For example: Would buy, would live, would come. It is used for the conditional form in English.
