Benefits for Recycling

*Protects and expands u.s manufacturing jobs and increases u.s competitiveness.

*Reduces the need for landfilling and incineration

*Prevents pollution caused by manufacturing of products from virgin materials.

*Saves energy

*Decreases emissions of greenhouse gases that contribute to global climate change

Entertainment, Eating and Buildings

The materials required to build

these places are wood.

To furnish them properly we will need:

Recycled toilets, glass for sinks.

Wood or plastic lumber for

sitting, and recycled plastic eating

utensils, straws, and lids or recycled

paper for plates and cups.

Attractions

Gift Shop

Wood is required to build the

outside of the shop. We sell recycled cotton tees and other

promotional products.

Games

Games can require various things. Wood

to build the area, and glass, plastic, paper

and other things that can create a challenge

to play and win. Awards will be stuffed animals made of recycled materials.

The games in our theme park include:

Bottle Break

Throw a ball at recycled glass bottles, when one bottle falls, win a prize.

Glass Maze

People start the maze and find recycled glass bottles throughout, the one who collects the most bottles wins a prize.

Rides

Rides need things like plastic, metal,

and power cords to create.

The rides included in our theme park are:

Circa Carts

The ride spins around really fast

Honey Hive

The ride allows you to float around a path around bee-themed scenes.

Zig Zag Slope

The ride jerks in a zig-zag shape and sometimes slopes downward

Ferris Wheel

The ride allows people to view the whole park

Bee Coaster

A roller coaster that goes through a model of a be hive and through a loop.

Flag Race

The ride spins and goes up,

and drops down a couple

times during ride time.

Plastic Recycling

Recycling Processes

  • Bring used plastics to a recycling center.
  • The plastic is brought to a recycling plant where it is washed and inspected.
  • The recyclable plastic is washed and chopped into tiny flakes.
  • The flakes are separated in a flotation tank.
  • The flakes are dried and then melted into a liquid.
  • The liquid is fed through a screen for even more cleaning. It comes out in long strands.
  • The strands are cooled and cut into pellets.
  • The pellets make their way to manufacturers who use them to make new products.

Glass Recycling

  • Bring glass to recycling centers.
  • The glass is sorted by color at these centers.
  • The glass is transported to a processing facility and cleaned and crushed into a cullet.
  • The cullet is brought to a manufacturing plant and mixed with more sand, soda ash and limestone.
  • The mixture is heated in a furnace and turned into a liquid.
  • The liquid is poured into molds and shaped into new product

Recycling Paper

  • Bring your paper to the recycling center.
  • The paper is sorted and transported to a pulping facility.
  • The paper is soaked and heated in huge vats, becoming pulp. Chemicals in the liquid separate the ink from the paper.
  • The pulp is screened and cleaned to remove glue, other debris and any remaining ink.
  • The pulp is refined and beaten to make it ready to become paper again.
  • The pulp is fed into a machine that spits out the pulp onto a flat moving screen where it forms sheets.
  • The sheets are rolled and dried.
