Taken place between 1271-1272, the loss of the eight crusade caused Edward to sail to Acre. After many impressive battles the Crusaders withdrawed due to concerns at home. This resulted in a Muslim victory.

The Christians horribly failed, lost many battles, and were forced to return to Europe after not even a year. This caused the second crusade to start in 1147 which was led by King Louis VII and King Conrad III.The Crusaders had defeated the Muslims. The defeats of the Christian armies had inspired the third crusade to begin. The third Crusade ended in 1192 after Richard and Saladan signed a peace treaty which reestablished Jerusalem.
