This quote shows how Beowulf will be missed, and how nobel of a king he was.

"Into Beowulf's neck; he staggered, the blood camf flodding forth, fell like rain." Line 915-916 pg 72

This quote tells how Beowulf was mortally injured, later causing his death. It also shows how brutal the battle with the dragon was.

"She welcomed him in her claws, Clutched at him savagely but could not harm him." Lines 429-430 pg 60

This quote tells the readers how angry Grendel's mother was after her son was killed.

"Till the monster stirred, That demon,that fiend, Grendel,who haunted the moors, the wild marshes, made his home in a hell. Not hell but earth." Line 16-19 pg 49

This quote is important because, it tells us a bit about Grendel. Also yet again sets the dark mood of the story.

"Caught her in the neck and cut it through, Bones broke and all. her body fell to the floor, lifeless, the sword was wet with her blood, and Beowulf rejoiced at the sight." Line 494-499 pg 61

This quote entails how gory Beowulfs fights can be and how easily he killed Grendels mother.

"So Beowulf chose the mightiest men he could find, the bravest and the best of the Geats." Line 100-102 pg 51

This quote says that Beowulf chose his best men in order to defeat Grendel and to help Hrothgars kingdom.

" The beginning might not be the end. And that night Grendel came again." Line 49-50 pg49

This quote is saying how persistant Grendel is. It also says how much pain and conflict he puts Hrothgars men in.

"A Powerful monster, living down in the darkness, growled in pain, impatient." Line 1 pg 48

"Took the throne he refused, once, And held it long and well. He was old, with years and wisdom, 50 winters, a king, when a dragon awoke from its darkness." Line 587-590 pg 64

This quote is important because it tells a bit about the monsters that appear in the story, as well as setting a dark tone.

This quote entils Beowulf is older but he is not done with the task at hand, "being a hero. "
