Some offenders back in bible times would have their hand cut off if they were caught adultering. Others would be tortured or killed.
Death Or Exile
Some communities took adultery a lot more serious than others did. Some communities would exile and never let them come back, some would even kill them.

Some communities would let the offenders use less embarrassing symbols such as little red tattoos or little red lines on their clothes.
