Learning Objective: YWBAT create lines of specific spacing and length.
Essential Question: What is the purpose of the border?
Do Now: (2 min) Answer the following in your notes:
1. What are the dimensions that we use to set the borders of a drafting template?
2. Do you think the border has a purpose beyond putting a frame around our technical sketches? If so, what do you think that purpose is?
3. Look closely at the orthographic 3 view on the right. Which dimensions can we easily PROJECT from one view to the other? Which dimension is not so easily projected?

Part 2: Line Exercises:
1. At 8cm from the right border line and 4cm below the top border line, establish a corner.
2. From this corner, construct the following
- Twelve horizontal lines - 0.5 cm spacing.
- Twelve vertical lines - 0.5 cm spacing.
- Twelve grid lines - 0.5 cm spacing.
- For all of the above, ALL lines should alternate between dark and light (ie. thick and thin).
- Each square of lines should be 6 x 6cm.
