Greek Gods

What are similarities and differences between Greek and Egyptian Gods?

Ancient Greek culture revolved around their worshiping of of their gods and goddesses. Worshipers sacrificed their harvest fruits and vegetables and animals in hope to gain the gods' kindness and respect. Mo of their culture was centered around the 12 Olympians. The 12 Olympians were greek gods that resided on Mount Olympus they were very powerful and sometimes feared.The Greeks prayed to certain gods and certain times depending on what they needed because every god had their own power.

Greek and Egyptian gods had hymns. Greek hymns were to celebrate the meaning of life and to explain the origin of the gods, Egyptian hymns were sang only to honor the gods. Both gods had temples.Greek temples were made of marble because they were made for the gods to live there. Egyptian temples were made of stone so they would last forever. Greek gods were portrayed as humans but egyptian gods didn't really have an identity they were sometimes portrayed as half human, half animal. All gods had stories of origin. Every god had their own duty.

Egyptian Gods

Ancient Egypt was one of the most complex civilizations. They had HUNDREDS of gods.They're god controlled everything upto making the sun rise and set. The gods were worshiped and an abundant amount. The gods identities were determined by their position in the web of relationships with other gods and goddesses within which they were embedded. Their identity was also fluid a deity could readily combine with another deity in various different ways. Meaning any god could transform and combine with another.

Greek Gods and Egyptian Gods

There are many equivalents of certain gods in both cultures. Both Greeks and Egyptians built temples to honor the gods and sang hymns for them. Both types of gods were believed to control the weather and agricultural and the majority of the land. Greeks and Egyptian gods have stories of origin.
