Understand the Road to Damascus allusion allows the view to better understand how James was able to his turn his attitude towards life so quickly. Like Saul in the bible, when directly confronted with Jesus (Conrad) Saul feels overpowered and a bit of fear. James feels overpowered by Conrad's wisdom and fear is inflicted as Conrad threaten to kill James if he ever returned to prison again.

Allusion

In the film Jamesy Boy 2014 the road to Damascus experience is when James winds up in prison once again and Conrad tells him to clean up his ways and make an appeal to get out. Conrad can be seen as Jesus speaking to Saul (James) in the film. James changing his ways and staying away from prison drama as well as his old friends is Saul conversion to Christianity.

Conrad advises James to clean up his ways and to make an appeal to get out. Unlike previous times when people tell James to clean up, James actually takes it seriously and works to better himself. He gives into his only passion of writing poetry and works on his appeal. He is able convince the judges to let him out and give him on more chance. Once he is out of prison James gets a job as janitor at a local motel and lives with his mom and sister.

In this film James is a teenage boy who has been in and out of institutions. He lives with his mother and siblings. He constantly getting in trouble at school and his mother can't get him into a new school because of his previous problems. He then gets involve with dealing drugs and winds up in prison once again. In prison he begins talking to a convicted killer, Conrad. At first Conrad wants nothing to do with the James because James gets involved with prison drama and Conrad doesn't get involved with any prison drama.

  • After 3 days Ananias arrives and meets with Saul causing Saul to receive Holy Spirit and his eyesight
  • Saul is baptized and received by the disciples in Damascus
