ARGENTINIAN WEDDING TOUR:
THREE PARTIES
Reception: "The big party"
- Starts in the evening and finishes the next day around 7.00 am.
- The bride dances a waltz with the groom, followed by a waltz with her father.
- Dancing, dining, and drinking make up the party.
Ceremony: "Faith Party"
- There are two events: The Civil ceremony and the Religious Ceremony.
Religious Ceremony
Civil Ceremony
- Takes place in a governmental registry office.
- The couple signs an official contract.
- It is performed the day of the Religious Ceremony.
- Takes place in a church (usually a Catholic Church).
- The church is decorated with flowers and ribbons.
- The bride wears a white dress.
- After the ceremony the guests throw rice at the couple as a symbol of good fortune and fertility.
Bachelor Parties: "Game Over parties"
- There are two separate parties: one for the groom and other for the bride.
- Organized by friends of each one.
- Take place at least a week before the Ceremony.
- Women only participate.
- There are drinking games, wearing unusual sexy clothes, and tricks.
- Men only participate.
- There are two basic characteristics: Eat our typical food "asado" (Barbeque) and get drunk!
