Trust the man your man could smell like.
(Totally not what they want you to do.)
- Old Spice's advertisement takes very well thought out scenes to help relate the product to you in ways you would not immediately see.
- First off, when you see the advertisement, you see a bathroom that is very nice, but not to nice. You see a beach that is awe inspiring, but you could also see yourself taking a vacation there.
- This helps to make it look like Old Spice could easily be in your home, so you'll be more inclined to buy it.
- All of this helps the viewer of the ad relate it back to their own lives, and become more comfortable with the product.
- This advertisement applies itself to so many basic human reactions that it's hard not to pay attention to it. You are pulled in at the beginning by the use of direct eye contact and a confident voice while then being entertained for the remainder of the advertisement.
- When an advertisement can not only get your attention but keep it then it's doing a very good job. This particular advertisement doesn't mention the actual product but once in the beginning so it is meant to be seen as more entertainment than anything else, but what's really happening is they're entertaining you to the point that when you see Old Spice anywhere else, you associate it with that entertainment and are automatically persuaded to buy it.
