The End

Great Quote

In my book the main character Lonnie Jackson was talking about what he did growing up and he said " After he split, I stayed around the house a lot when I was younger, I used to tell myself I was going to do this and do that and I believed it, and all along, though,I had my game."(Pg 13) This shows that through all the hardship in his life he still had something to look up to which was him game in basketball.

Main Setting

Alternate Setting

The time is in about 2006 in Harlem, New York. Lonnie mainly goes to stay at the hotel he works at called "The Grant". His manager lets him stay in the rooms that are empty to sleep in. He only goes there when his mom gets on his nerves which is a lot.

The other place he goes to his a gym called "Jamil's Gym" where him and his team practice and where some of his friends hang out. He goes there to get better and to work out.

Lonnie Jackson

Coach Cal

He wants to get out of his ghetto neighborhood and play professional basketball. But, in the finals of this big tournament he is playing in a bunch of scouts come to watch him play. But, his coach sits him because he is in a bet in some gambling he is doing. So, his coach finally decides to put him in near the end of the game and he leads his team to victory.

He wants Lonnie to not make the same mistakes he did growing up as a basketball player. He is pressured from all of the gambling he does to sit Lonnie in the finals of the most important game of Lonnie's life. So, he decides to put Lonnie in so he can play and lead his team to the win.
