President
- Carries out the laws made by Congress, called the Executive Branch.
Congress
- Made up of the Senate and the House of Representatives.
- There are TWO Senators per state, which makes One Hundred Senators in total.
- House of Representatives made up of 435 Representatives, according to population.
- New laws are presented as Bills to the House and then the Senate for passage.
Supreme Court
- Made up of 9 Judges or Justices who interpret the laws made by Congress.
Set state budget, establish local governments, issues licenses for marriage, driving, hunting, teaching, and more.
They also conduct elections, establish courts, collect taxes, regulate intrastate commerce, regulate education and the school districts.
The State Government is modeled after the Federal Government, with three branches including the Governor, Congress, and Supreme Court.
The Governor is the executive of Texas.
Congress has Senate and House of Rep. just like the U.S. Government.
