  • Use superior strength or influence to intimidate someone, typically to force him or her to do what one wants, repetitively.

  • Bullying Over The Internet Or Phone
  • (It Can Happen 24/7)
  • Threatening To Hurt Somebody
  • Making Rude Comments Or Posting Things About People
  • Making Hate Accounts
  • Intrude immediately. Its okay to get an adult to help.
  • Separate the kids involved.
  • Make sure everyone is okay & safe
  • Stay calm. Reassure the kids involved, including bystanders.
  • Model respectful behavior when you intervene.

B. Social~ involves a bully trying to hurt a peer and/or that peer’s standing within a particular peer group.

Examples:

  • Leaving Somebody Out On Purpose
  • Telling Other People Not To Be Friends With Someone
  • Spreading Rumors

Get Emergency Services Involved Immediately If:

  • Don't ignore it. Don't think kids can work it out without adult help
  • Don't immediately try to sort things out.
  • Don't force other kids to say publicly what they saw
  • Don't question the children involved in front of other kids.
  • Don't talk to kids involved together
  • Don't make the kids involved apologize or patch up relations on the spot.
  • A weapon is involved
  • There are threats of serious injury
  • There are threats of hate-motivated violence, such as racism or homophobia.
  • There is serious bodily harm
  • There is sexual abuse
