The 1920's known as the "Roaring twenties" and was known as that for a specific reason. As the economy was literally "Roaring". However, towards the end of 1929 and all throughout the 30's there was a huge stock market crash which most people call the great depression.

-Canada gained independence as Britain didn't inter fear because they were an autonomous community and Canada made it's own laws

-Mackenzie King was the prime minister of Canada during the beginning of the 30's however his failure to do anything about the economic crisis is what made him lose in the election to R.B. Bennett

-Movies now had colour however some did not have sound due to the loss of money in the economy

-watching silent films was very popular. They appealed to every crowd and there were comedies which featured characters like Charlie Chaplain

-The lindy hop was the new dance of the ear as it became more popular. Other things like playing cards was a new fad as people did not always have money to go watch a film or listen to music

- Canada in the 1920’s was highly dependent on their main resources, wheat and newsprint. As much as it was a good thing for Canada’s economy as they supplied more than 65% of the world’s demand for newsprint and 40% for wheat.

- It was also a bad thing because when the Great Depression hit as they were very dependent on these main resources which grew their economy. Once the depression came the demand for these resources dropped fast and in repercussion many people lost their jobs.

- dancing was another form of entertainment and it mostly appealed to the younger crowds. One of the most known popular dances from the era was the Charleston

-Bennett was said to give to thousands that would mail to him asking for money and all sorts of things

-farmers were forced into an uncomfortable situation as the large amount of wheat harvest in the prairies lowered the price of wheat. They then formed their own political party called the Progressive party

-The stock market was though to be a high profit investment

- The stock markets crashed as it was so over valued and investors started to sell their stocks to cash high profits as they knew it would soon be worth nothing

-Inflation started and prices on goods rose higher which began just after the economy began to "boom"

- Once the prices rose so high there was a mass in overproduction as no one could afford to buy the goods which then led to deflation
