WHO AM I ?
What are some of the first things you think of when you are asked to describe yourself?
What would your friends say if asked to describe you? What would your family say?
What are some of your favorite things, hobbies, interests…?
What are some things that only you know about yourself (things others would be surprised to find out, or that you might hide from others)?
As you reflect about yourself, what are a few things you feel really strongly about or that you care most about? What are some of your guiding principles or ideas?
What artist will I research? What characterizes their artwork and style?
Moritz Aust
Perspective influences interpretation.
After creating your grid for your portrait, you will use VALUE to finish your work of art.
You may do this with:
Collage (gluing cut paper/images onto the paper/canvas)
Painting (use brushstrokes to mimic your artist)
Colored Pencils
OR you can use a combination of all three!
Remember that VALUE is the most important aspect!
Match hues!

You will pick an artist and "meld" their portrait and/or style with yours!

1. Research an artist. Summarize their work.
2. Plan. Plan your self portrait:
* Background, props, clothing
* Body language and facial expression
* Symbolism
* Photoshop techniques needed
3. Take your self portrait. Remember all that you have learned (aperture, light, etc).
4. Mimic an artist's style. In camera and in Photoshop.
5. Participate in a peer review and a final critique.
6. Turn in on blog and server.
7. TWO IMAGES are due. One art movement and one of your choice. Additional self-portraits will be considered "exceeding expectations" on the rubric.
