Claudius always struggles in keeping
the kingdom from knowledge of the
murder that took place. He always feels
as if Hamlet is a threat to him and wants
Hamlet to be gone.
Claudius is always trying to win Hamlet over. He always
gives Hamlet false statements, however, Hamlet does not believe these statements. He influences Hamlet into thinking that his father's death will cause him to be an Uncle. Claudius always has trouble controlling his emotions. This shows Person Vs. Person conflict between Claudius and Hamlet because they are both against each other throughout the play.
Gertrude can't help but feel downhearted for herself because her own son hates her. She wonders why has Hamlet is acting so depressed and ill-mannered towards everyone especially towards her. She feels that Hamlet should be delighted for and Claudius.
Hamlet is mad at his Mother for marrying a guy right after his Fathers death. Gertrude is trying to be their for Hamlet and make him happy again. Just like when he was little. This shows a person vs person conflict as Gertrude is heart broken that her own son hates her so much. All she wants is everyone to be a happy family again.

Person vs person- Hamlet is upset at his mom, for marrying right after his fathers death, and even worse its his own Uncle marrying his mom.
Person vs self- Hamlet is struggling to deal with his fathers death. He becomes very sad and very hateful person. He is currently struggling to fight his way through depression because grieving is considered "unmanly".
Ophelia is not allowed to speak or see Hamlet. Her feelings for him have to be forbidden. Her feeling for someone from now on has to be approved by both her father and brother or she will not be able to be with them. This is Person Vs. Self because she has to get over someone who she has feelings for.
Ophelia has always wanted to be with Hamlet throughout the play. Her father, brother, Polonious, and Laertes all want Ophelia back away from Hamlet. This shows Person Vs. Person between Ophelia and Claudius and Laertes because Ophelia isn't allowed to do what she wants to or feels the way she does for Hamlet.
