North Korean Tactics

In the Korean War the north was winning because the south's army was funded and trained by America and they didn't give them any tanks or anti tank weapons to protect themselves from North Korea's tanks. This issue has been resolved since at the end of the war in 1953 the U.S and South Korea signed the Mutual Defense Treaty which states that if one country were to be attacked then the other would come to assist them. The U.S currently has 37,000 troops in South Korea stationed in the emergency that North Korea does attack again

South Korean Government

North Korea keeps threatening the U.S, South Korea and Japan. Obama himself stated that North Korea's attempts to threaten the alliance is only helping the alliance grow stronger. He also stated that they will continue to utilize the trade agreement even more helping both America's economy and South Korea's economy. South Korea was the seventh biggest U.S. trading partner in 2012, according to U.S. Census Bureau.

South Korean president, Park Geun-Hye

spoke with Obama about a plan in which

South Korea and America would team up

to defuse tensions with North Korea. The

plan is to get North Korea to abandon

its nuclear programs. While they met

they also devised strategies in case

North Korea attacked.

North Korea has been threatening with its

nuclear programs but also they have been

trying to anger South Korea when a

spokesperson for North Korea stated that

Park Geun-Hye visited America to help

the "master-servant" relationship they

have.

North Korean Aggression

South Korean and American Joint Military Exercises

The reason why Korea was split into two different countries is because after the Second World War and when the Cold War was starting America was influencing Korea into becoming non-communist and the Soviet Union was influencing Korea to become communist. So the north favored Communism and the south favored a government that had no communism forcing them to divide into two separate countries.

South Korea now has a presidential government.

When North Korea heard that South Korea and America were performing joint military exercises they warned both countries that if even one shell went to North Korea that they will attack. They followed that by saying if South Korea struck back they will attack five South Korean islands. North Korea themselves had a shell land in a South Korean island that resulted in four deaths so South Korea also seems a little trigger happy since South Korean president Park Geun-Hye stated that if another attack occured "we will make them pay".

North Korea has been very suspicious after they signed a peace treaty in 1953 with their nuclear programs and several different nuclear missile launches. This could lead to a dangerous situation for America and South Korea since North Korea has ignored several requests from the UN to stop these launches and programs. Also in 2010 North Korea fired a missile at a South Korean ship.
