The powerful fisherman of the town, ambitious, impulsive and experienced.
This story is starts in the town near beach.
The weather in this place is foggy in the morning.
The fisherman never had the wrong foreseen, he is always right, and the sign is good. But, when it turns bad, the situation just suddenly turns bad. The storm came and took the skiff away. If only the fisherman made a wrong decision, he dies.
The fisherman is a very arrogant person. He wants everything to be in the way he planned. If something doesn't work out as well as he wanted, he would behave in impulsive way. He is only skilled hunter among three. He tells the children what to do.
There are two allusions in the story. One appears when the fisherman wakes up. The narrator tells that his wife doesn't want him to go hunting in winter. It's because the weather in treacherous. Another allusion appears when the fisherman leaves tobacco in home. The fisherman always wanted to be perfect when he his hunting. The fact that he left tobacco in his house symbolizes that hunting would not be held in the way the fisherman planed.
He made several wrong decisions: go to hunt, refuse the backup rescue plan and keep shooting the ducks. He dies because of his over confidence.
When the skiff was gone, the fisherman choosed to keep shooting and waiting for help instead of trying his best to get the skiff back, and he was wrong.
