Learning Objective: YWBAT apply multiple tools and techniques to create a complex design in 123D Design.
Essential Question: Are there tools that allow us to align parts of our design more quickly?
snapTool (face of solid to move, face of solid to remain)
Do Now: (3 min)
As we said in our last class, the Snap Tool has two inputs. We can use the following notation to represent the use of the Snap tool.
1. What does each of the three parts of this notation represent?
2. With Snap tool notation as an example, how would you represent the Path Pattern tool with the same notation? (Hint: Before writing the notation, determine the number and types of inputs required to use the Path Pattern tool)
Do Now: (3 min) Reflect on your Desk Lamp design.
1. What tool has been most important in streamlining the design of the desk lamp? In other words, what tool would you say, if it was removed, would result in this design being much more difficult?
2. What has been the toughest part of the design? Did you find a way overcome that difficulty? If so, how?
Unit 5: Model Organic Forms
Today's Agenda:
1. Path Pattern Demo (3 min)
2. Design activity: Watch Path Pattern video and create 2 path patterns and answer questions (15 min).
3. Begin desk lamp design (25 min).
