Again, I was encouraged by a family friend (who was a teacher) to try teaching because she thought that I would be good at it. I thought carefully about this new path and then followed her advise.

Back to School
While I was in university, I started working in the field of fashion design. It was not what I expected. So, I had to reevaluate my plans.
I started teaching in Inglewood, California as a long-term sub. I completed my certification within a year and a half. I then earned a Master's Degree in Multicultural Education from Cal State University, Dominguez Hills.
Before College
- At 16, I got my first job at Marshall's.
- By my senior year, I was working at Robinson's and stayed there for 4 years.
- My mother encouraged me to choose a career where my creativity would be used.
- I listened to my guidance counselor about a possible path to take.
Los Angeles Trade Techical College
- I completed my preliminary courses for transfer.
- I earned an Associate of Arts Degree in Fashion Design.
- I developed a plan for my future.
Long Beach State University
After 2 years, I earned a Bachelor's Degree in Marketing.
