What Is The El Coco?
El Coco is a mythical bugbear that is mentioned in lullabies to have children to stop misbehaving and have them go to sleep. According to the legend, this creature devours and kidnaps disobediant children, without a trace. It often hides in the child's closet, under the bed, or on the roof, taking the shape of a shadow and watching. Though it may not have a specific appearance, due to its ability to shapeshift, it is believed to be a hairy beast with razor-sharp teeth, and claws.
