The main image on my cover will be related to my main coverline.

Idea 1- close up shot of female artist, taken from slightly above eye level, focus on dark smoky eyes, billowing hair taking up the background

Idea 2-mid/long shot of group, possibly made up of 4 members, 3 boys 1 girl, possibly propped with guitar, plain, dull coloured wall paper, dark clothing, taken on eye level or from slightly below to idolise the band

For the name of my magazine, I plan on using a word related to music and noise to immediately make it clear that this is a music magazine. These are my ideas:

NOISE JAM CHANT BASS

I have chosen BASS as my masthead as this word

describes the sound of rock music, which fits the

genre of my magazine.

I have decided to include a puff on the cover of

my magazine in an attempt to entice new readers.

This will be a contest displayed on the cover which

will allow readers the chance to win a free 5th Gen

iPod Touch

The slogan I have chosen to go with

my masthead is

Turn up the Bass.

the page, featuring the coverlines from the front cover, such as the chance to win an iPod, an article with a new female indie rock musician, etc.

Plain/dull colours, with one bright colour

Question and answer style interview with a new female

indie rock musician about her rise to fame, told in a formal style

Images-

As there will only be one image, the main image will be a extreme long shot of the musician performing, taking up the whole left side of the page, with the title over lapping.

Idea 1- Main image taking up whole left page.

Pull quote overlapping main image.

Title, subtitle, pull quotes, etc all spread out across right page.

Main body text on right page, with little white space.

Idea 2- Large image of the artist, with a large amount

of plain background to the right of the artist, using this as the whole background for the double page spread.

Title and small text box covering the plain background.

Another double page with the body text and smaller

images from the same photoshoot, on the same colour

background for continuity and to keep house style.

Content-

An informal article about a day in the life of the band, retold by a reporter who has spent time with them, to make it seem like it is being told by a knowledgable fan, featuring lots of quotes from the band.

Images-

For the main image, have the wide shot of the full band posing together against a dull, plain coloured background, with either one or two sitting and the rest standing.

Smaller images from the same photoshoot made up of different combinations of the band members each time, with lots of different poses.
