WatHistory - is an educational website with a difference.
It aims to provide high-quality teaching and learning materials for students and teachers, as well as a place for students to engage with their studies independently, outside of lessons.
Here, you will find examples of the various features used to engage students.
Since September, I have been uploading my lessons and resources to WatHistory.
Every lesson that I have created is available to other teachers, and more importantly my students.
This is this terms Year 8 Scheme of Work, which was planned during half term. Students are able to download the PowerPoints, Prezi's and handouts. This enabled CE (who missed several lessons) to catch up and complete it.
Nov 2012 - Jun 2013 - Ahli United.
Sep 2011 - Mar 2012 - Coutts & Co
Nov 2009 - Mar 2010 - Dept. BIS
- Office of Manpower Economics.
Jul 2007 - Oct 2010 - Buckingham Palace.
The site also acts as an online display board for more creative work.
Year 10 YouTube videos on the contribution of Florey, Chain and Fleming.
The site also allows for Peer-Assessment and Feedback.
I have also used it to enhance traditional teaching. Here are examples of poems that Year 9's created, posted to their own homework blog and I marked using WWW and EBI.
This allowed me to keep track of who had and had not completed their homework before they had even handed it in...
With my Year 12 computer lessons, I have been able to be more creative. Here is an example of an online lesson, students use collaborative learning websites to apply their knowledge simultaneously.
I would love to have the opportunity with KS3.

What can I offer.
I've already led training and information sessions for KMT and Humanities. I would love for the opportunity to do this on a school wide basis.
I will continue to update WatHistory for the students benefit.
Should you offer me the position I would aim to have a resourced KS3 History department for next September.
There have been roughly 1,000 Unique Hits since the creation its creation in September.
Students are using and gaining from it.
