Case Decision/Resolution

DeAngelo Bailey vs. Marshal Bruce Mathers

Plaintiff Claimed

Deborah Dropped The Case, agreeing with Marshell that the statements were complete exaggerations not to be believed by anyone; especially because Eminem claims his principle beat him. The exact statement is as follows:

Two Accounts of "False-Light" Invasion of Privacy Based on the Song Lyrics and Rolling Stones Article.

"The lyrics are stories no one would take as fact, they are an exaggeration of a childish act. It is therefore this court's ultimate position, that Eminem is entitled from summary disposition."

Defendant Claimed

Summary

Personal Opinion

Marshell asked Judge Deborah Servitto to dismiss the case due to the clear exaggerations of the lyrics content.

I agreed with the courts case in this. Eminem has a history of being sued for his lyrical content that he has continuously stated "is just rhyming words". In interviews with Jimmy Kimmel Eminem roughly says "They are just words I rhyme, that's what i do, just rap.."

In the song "Brain Damage" Eminem talks about his school bully, DeAngelo Bailey. Eminem Claims this bully tortured him through his younger years while his Principle knew and encouraged DeAngelo. After Rolling Stones published Eminem's article on the same matter, DeAngelo Bailey sued him for $1,000,000.
