The 1950's were a time of changes and the music of the decade both reflected the cultural changes that were happening while still holding on to the societal norms of the past. Following the detrimental effects of World War II, the United States was about to embark on a musical journey that would change the face of music for decades to come.

Clothing

Young:

The young men wore colorful jackets buttoned pockets, bright ties and light trousers. The new jackets transmitted creativity with unusual placement of pockets: sometimes with a breast pocket and two lower side pockets. However, this was considered a conservative appearance in the 1950s.

Casual Wear

People wore clothes for a ball game that was much less conservative than his work clothes. Still, sharply dressed men with shirts tucked in and belts with silver buckles fashion, buttoned shirts with long necks and chest pockets.

The Korean War (25 June 1950 – 27 July 1953) was a war between the Republic of Korea (South Korea), supported by the United Nations, and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (North Korea), at one time supported by the People's Republic of China and the Soviet Union. It was primarily the result of the political division of Korea by an agreement of the victorious Allies at the conclusion of the Pacific War at the end of World War II. The North established a communist government, while the South established a right-wing government.
